Lease by Henry and Charles Barnes of Liverpool, merchants, Edmund Barnes of Ashgate, esquire and Alfred Barnes of Whitecoates, esquire (devisees of J G Barnes) to Arthur Hankey of Hyde Park (Middlesex), John Fowler of Westminster and William Fowler of Whittington Place, esquires, of the bed of Dog Tooth Ironstone beneath 9 closes known as Newbold Fields (41 acres) at Over Newbold, for 7 years at £100 for the first year and £200 per annum thereafter, plus £3 10s per annum for every surface acre occupied and £1 per acre when the land is given up, as compensation for preparing the land for crops.
