Copy probate of John Wilkinson Clay of North Wingfield esquire: to his old servant Dorothy Roberts, the bed whereon she sleeps with all bedlinen etc. and household furniture in the room (except the iron safe), also an annuity of £52 charged on all his real estate; the residue of his real estate to his only child Sarah, widow of Joseph Oakes of Sheffield; the whole of his real estate to Sarah for life with remainder to her children in equal shares and in default of issue, to his second cousin Eliza Penelope Clay for life with remainder to her children in equal shares, and for want of issue to his nephew Alfred Barnes (younger son of his sister Elizabeth Taylor Barnes) in fee simple. Will dated 20 August 1857. Proved at Derby.
