Lease and release by Thomas Elliot of Curbar farmer, and Elizabeth his wife, Joseph Hodgkinson of Matlock, maltster, and Abigail his wife (being sisters and co-heirs of John Grundy deceased by Elizabeth his wife) to William Gardom of Cutthorpe, gentleman, in consideration of £455 of a dwelling house at Ashgate with a close called Little Croft, a parcel of land known as the Orchard, Great Croft or Gorsey Close (tenant Widow Eaton) (4 acres 1 rood) a close Little Common known as the Oakes (formerly at Great and Little Oakes) (tenant Godfrey Watkinson) (2 acres 3 roods) with all seats in Brampton church pertaining to the said messuage.
