DescriptionFolios 1-3; Sir George Gresley to Sir Thomas Pickering - there are now 20-30 princes at the King of Sweden's court and he has been joined by the King of Bohemia with 8 troops of horse and 1,500 musketeers; has seen a letter from the Swedish Chancellor to Sir Thomas Rowe confirming the report of the Queen of Poland's death during a tempest and thunderstorm; today is the conclusive day for the business between the 2 Scots combatants in the Earl Marshall's Court 26 Jan 1631
Folios 4-5; Sir George Gresley to Sir Thomas Pickering; gives details of happenings in Paris and the summoning of the Cardinal (Richelieu?) before the parliament; the Earl of Castlehaven was executed on Tower Hill on Saturday; the business between Lord Falkland and Sir Arthur Savage is before Star Chamber 19 May 1631
Folios 6-9; Sir George Gresley to Sir Thomas Pickering; Lord Richardson was removed to the King's Bench on Monday; Sir Robert Heath has been made Sergeant and Mr Noy replaces him as attorney to the King; the Bishop of Winchester is to be Archbishop of York; the Dutch have offered to put 12,000 men into the Palatinate if England will give them £6,000 a month in support but there is not £4,000 in the Exchequer 27 Oct 1631
