Mortgage by release by Robert Shaw of Sawley, innholder, and Edward Thompson of Sawley, butcher, to William Briggs of Alvaston, yeoman, for £400, of all that messuage, dewlling house of tenement nearly opposite the church in Sawley in a street called Fore Street now used or occupied by the same Robert Shaw as an inn or public house known by the sign of the White Lyon which said messuage had been lately erected and built by the said Robert Shaw on the site of two cottages purchased of John Davys, 3 April
