Administrative HistoryThe Miller Mundy family was associated with Shipley Hall and estate from the late 17th to the early 20th centuries. The house was demolished in the 1940s. Derbyshire County Council opened Shipley Country Park in 1976. These items form a collection made by a private individual reflecting his subjects and areas of interest. The records listed under Education and Leisure activities were mainly created by the collector or members of his family. Shipley Colliery Company was in operation from the 1870s to the 1940s.
