TitleCopy of plan of the first Ambergate Station with layout in the Ambergate area including Bull Bridge lime works
Date(c1846)-(c1874)
DescriptionShowing the station buildings, tracks, roads, River Amber and Cromford Canal

Description provided by the donor:
The plan shows the 'proposed' junction arrangements (the Matlock lines locomotive turntable being built over the site of the Midland Railway's Station Master's House) and therefore must be before c1846. The colours reproduced are copied from the original - pencil alterations seem to indicate this may not have been the 'final' approved layout which may have differed slightly.
The major points of interest:-
1) Site of North Midland Station established definatly [sic]
2) Matlock company has its own platforms
3) Through working of trains not possible although traffic could be exchanged by the siding connections.

Description added by Derbyshire Record Office following information provided by a researcher, May 2023:
One of the annotations (which are copied rather than added to this copy) reads 'Clay Cross Colliery Company Feb 15th 1874', indicating that the annotations at least must post-date 1874 even if the original drawing was made or relates to the site before 1846.
