Title
Covenant to levy a fine and deed to lead the uses, made between 1. Thomas Dakin of Aston blacksmith and Mary his wife (only child and heir at law of William Smedley late of Aston butcher, who died intestate) and 2. Reverend Charles Shuttleworth clerk, rector of Aston, Dakin and his wife covenanting to levy a fine of a messuage in Aston and a piece of meadow ground in Wilne and Shardlow, parish Aston, called Calver or Cover Pleck containing 1½ acres, late in possession of William Smedley but now of Thomas Dakin, all purchased by Smedley of Leonard Fosbrooke esquire, cottage on Aston Moor now in the possession of Thomas Wingfield and purchased by Smedley from John Simpson, and messuage in Spondon, one land, sellion or ley of arable, meadow or pasture ground in common field of Spondon called Borrowash Field, 2 lands of arable containing ½ acre in common field of Spondon called Derby Field, all now in possession of Richard Clifford, with all the estate of William Smedley in Aston and Spondon which descended at his death to Mary Dakin, which fine is to enure to the use of any writing of Thomas and Mary, in default successively to the use of Thomas for life, Mary for life, Thomas's will and the right heirs of Mary.
