Title
Attested copy of release dated 12 November 1814 to make a tenant to the precipe for the suffering of a recovery and to declare the uses of the recovery, made between 1. Catherine Prior of Desford, county Leicester widow of John Prior late of Desford gentleman deceased intestate 2. Thomas Prior of Desford gentleman eldest son and heir of John Prior deceased, who was eldest son and heir of John Prior of Aston deceased and devisee in fee tail under his father's will 3. Samuel Alston of Leicester gentleman and 4. Samuel Miles of Leicester gentleman, for releasing the premises from Catherine's dower and limiting them to the use of Thomas Prior, the premises being messuage with outbuildings, yards, gardens etc in Aston formerly in the occupation of John Prior the grandfather and John Prior the father of Thomas, but now of Mary Botham widow, 2 closes of ancient enclosed land adjoining the messuage and called the Homestead containing 4 acres 1r and the Clay Pitts 2 acres 3p;
the Foss Close 5 acres 1r 21p which was awarded at the inclosure of open fields at Aston in 1763 to John Prior the grandfather as parcel of land in Alderslade field containing 5 acres 1r 5p;
5 closes with barn and stable on them called Barn Close, Great Sage Leys, Little Sage Leys, Riband Hole Close and Hunger Hill Close together 46 acres 3r 12p, awarded at the inclosure (see above) to John Prior the grandfather as a piece of land in Cross Field containing 45 acres 1r 15p (further detail of awarded lands) all in township of Aston and in tenure of Mary Botham widow and William Bancroft
