Description
3 dwellinghouses at Aston in the possessions of William ?Cook, Joseph Brambley and Thomas Tompson with gardens and orchards adjoining, and dwellinghouse at Shardlow, adjoining other premises hereinafter mentioned, which eldest son William lately built and is now in the possession of William Farrow, with garden or small bit of land adjoining, to son William;
all other property to son William;
all household goods, linen, china, books, book and other debts, money, cows etc to son George Clifford, but chargeable with payment of £150 to each of other children, Samuel, John, Maria, Jemimah, Mary and Elizabeth and subject to payment of debts (further detail);
whereas roof of aforesaid house at Shardlow projects over the roof of the house in which the testator dwells, before given to son George and the side of testator's house forms the gable end of the house given to William, if George wishes to take down his dwellinghouse or to raise the roof thereof, it may be lawful for him to do so first giving testator's son William a fortnight's notice that he may take away such projecting part of the roof or build up a gable end to his house, and if William does not remove the projecting part, it may be lawful for George to do it;
also if it needs repair and William will not remove it;
and then or if in taking down either of the houses or raising of George's roof William shall build a gable end to his house from the ground and leave a space of 9" for an eaves' drop between the houses, then testator gives George a right of foot road from his garden over the land at the end of the house given to William to and from the well in the yard belonging to house in Thomas Cantrell's possession.
