Description
By which, for the marriage between John Bancrofte and Mary Gregory and for £200, Mary's marriage portion, Bancrofte conveyed to Smith and Eggleston a messuage in Aston and 3 Yard Lands in fields of Aston in tenure of Bancrofte and Ann Sheldon, heretofore purchased by Christopher Bancrofte, John's greatgrandfather from Henry Sachaverell esquire, in trust as to the messuage and 2 yard lands for John Bancrofte for life, remainders to Mary for life for her jointure and in lieu of dower, the heirs of Mary by John, and John's right heirs, as to the other yard land in Ann Sheldon' s possession, to the use of Ann Sheldon, Bancrofte 's grandmother for her life, remainder to Bancrofte, his heirs and assigns. (The recital names Bancrofte 's great grandfather Christopher, grandfather Gervase and father John). Signed `Bancraft'.
