DescriptionReciting some of the provisions in Sir William Leche's will, the deaths of several of his children, transactions relating to their financial affairs, that the premises mentioned below are in mortgage to Thomas Jackson of Newlands gentleman, for £1,130, borrowed to pay the portions of Sir William's children and to renew the lease of Sawley prebend, that Holden has contracted to buy all the lands, freehold and leasehold, late of Sir William Leche in Wilne, Sawley and Aston for £7,000, discharging the mortgage with part of the purchase money, that the remainder is insufficient to pay off the parties claiming under Leche's will, that they have agreed to abate their claims proportionally and to accept £5,870 in full payment for their claims and witnessing that for £1,130 paid to Jackson and £5,870 paid to party 1. by Holden in full payment of claims under Sir William's will and charged upon lands below, Wilne Hall in Little Wilne with croft and orchard in the tenure of George Wallis, the Chantrey House in Sawley in the tenure of Francis Thorpe, 5 acres meadow or pasture in Sawley in enclosure called the Forty acres, meadows or pasture grounds called Mytholme in the tenure of Mr Jerram, with fishing in Trent called Mytholme Draught, Goosegreene, Westholme and Lowholme in Sawley, Wilne, Shardlow and Aston, all freehold lands and no part of the Prebend (below), were released to Wakelin and Greaves in trust for Holden and the prebend, rectories, parsonages and churches of 'Sallow' [Sawley] and Wilne with mansion place, buildings, glebe lands, rents, tithes etc. (excepting the nomination of the curate and the ecclesiastical jurisdiction and perquisites belonging) demised on 25 February 1730/1 by William Higgs M.A. clerk, treasurer of Lichfield Cathedral and prebendary of the prebend of Sallow, to Edward Mundy esquire and Zachary Hamlyn gentleman, for the lives of Reverend Henry Burvill clerk then late curate of Boxley, Kent (then parson of Little Peckham, Kent) Henry Jodrell, Rector of Ickenham, Middlesex, and the Reverend - David clerk, parson of West Farley, Kent, in trust for party 1., were assigned to Wakelin and Greaves in trust for Holden for the 3 lives above mentioned
