DescriptionIn pursuance of an agreement between i. Sir Nicholas Wilmot and Robert his son an ii. Samuel Holden and his brothers John and Edward, Dorothy relict and widow of Henry son and heir of Robert Holden gentleman, both deceased, and Robert son of Henry, for the settling of the manor or manors of Weston, Aston, Wilne and Shardlow, so that there shall be no trouble between the parties, and in consideration of £100 paid by 2. to 1., which is part of £500 parties ii. agreed to pay in the said agreement, of capital messuage in Aston called Aston Hall in the tenure of 2. and before in the holding of John Hunt deceased, all hereditaments belonging, 3½ yardlands enjoyed with the capital messuage, 9 cottages in Aston in the tenure of Thomas Clarke, John Lane, William Whyman, Thomas Phipps, Joseph Clifford, Jervase Killingley, Cicely Siddowne widow, Margaret Cooper and Mary Howet, the Hall Hay in Wilne, Wett Close and Wett Close Flash in Aston, 20 acres of meadow and pasture dispersed in the common fields of Aston in 2.'s tenure, messuage in Aston in the tenure of Robert Morely, late of Edward Hill, 1½ yard lands belonging, messuage in Aston held by Richard Pym and before by Alice Davenport widow with 1½ yardlands, Lockholme alias Lockholme Acres in Aston Meadow containing 20 acres, Gill Meadow, Allsomes or All some Meadow, Forkemear Meadow and Birch Acre (meadow), all in Aston, 2 yardlands in common fields of Aston containing 40 acres, and in tenure of Samuel Holden, flatt of arable in Aston called Howet Flatt, 3 lands of arable lying together in Ashfield in Aston, in 2.'s possession, parcels of meadow in Wilne and Shardlow called Little Cowholme and the greate Cow holme, enclosed ground called the Ossery alias Osiers or Stenyard, 2 flatts of arable in Shardlow between flatts of Joseph Wright and abutting on the Coate greene, 4 closes in Weston called Oxendoales, the Caldwell, the Great thicke Rushes Flatt and the Little Thike Rushes Flatt, half New Close alias the hollow close alias Weston Hollow heretofore inclosed out of the common of Weston being the west end of the close as formerly ordered to be divided by the award of Richard Newdigate sergeant at law, with all other properties in Weston which for 20 years past have usually been held by 2., with all fishings, ways, waters, common etc. usually reputed to be parcel of the premises within last 30 years, also the advowson of Aston rectory with annual payment of 5 marks issuing out of the Rectory excepting all grants of properties conveyed to Sampson Baker gentleman and Richard Knight servant to Sir Nicholas Wilmot by indenture of even date between 1) Dorothy Holden (as ii. above) Samuel Holden (2. above), John Holden of Wilne gentleman and Robert Holden of Grays Inn gentleman and 2) parties as under 1. above and 3) Baker and Knight.
Annexed appointment of John Adderley gentleman and Richard Levys to deliver seisin, date as feoffment.
Endorsed with livery of seisin 20 April 1681.
