Title | Counterpart of covenant to stand seised to uses made between 1. Charles Pagett of Weston esquire, and 2. the right honourable William Lord Paget of `Beawdesart' [in county Stafford] by which Charles covenanted, for the affection he bore to Lord Paget, his lawful heirs, and to Mary Gerard, Charles' niece, widow of William Gerard of Trent [in Somerset] esquire, and the heirs of her body, and the heirs of the body of Mary Coles deceased, late niece of Charles, that he shall stand seised of the manors of Weston, Aston, Wilne, Shardlow, Morley and Smalley, Morley Park, the advowsons of Aston, Weston and Morley and all his hereditaments in the fields, parishes, hamlets etc of the above-named places and of Kiddesley, to the use of himself for life without impeachment of waste, then to the use of Mary Gerard and the lawful heirs of her body, with remainder to William Lord Paget and the lawful heirs of his body, provided that if Lord Paget shall, after Charles' death, pay to Mary Gerard £1,000 her interest shall determine and the premises shall be held to the use of Lord Paget and the lawful heirs of his body, with successive remainders to Mary Gerard and the lawful heirs of her body, the lawful heirs of the body of Mary Colles deceased, and the right heirs of Lord Paget.
