Description | Royal charter to the Abbot of Saint Werburgh, Chester and the monks there, for the salvation of the souls of the King and of his ancestors, granting that the abbot and monks and all their men of the Soke of Weston in Derbyshire with their appurtenances be free and quit of all suits of the county and hundred and tithing and Wapentake and of view of frankpledge, aids, amercements and all demands, pleas and suits which pertain to the sheriff or his bailiffs, and quit also of carriage, works on castles, fishponds, ponds, walls, bridges, causeways, parks and all other enclosures; they are to have their free court of all pleas and suits arising in their lands, which pertain to the sheriff, with Soke and Sake and Thole and Then and Infangthief; no one is to disturb this upon the King's forfeiture of £10.
