Description | with dovecote, garden, 2 orchards, malt mill, 'conygree', buildings adjoining, in tenure of Hunt, 6 cottages in the several occupations of Margaret Parker widow, Robert Clifford, Hugh Barton, Thomas Cowley, Thomas Raske, and Robert Hall, close of meadow called the Hall Hey, the Weete Close, 5½ yard land containing 240 acres (sic, but see D 779B/T 116-7 where 140 acres is given) 20 acres meadow and pasture, all in Aston, and all buildings etc (including mention of hopyards), waters, fishings, mines, minerals etc. lands, of John Hunt in Aston, Weston, Wilne and 'Shardley' [Shardlow] (reserving cottage and one close as it is now divided and used with the cottage in Shardlow commonly called Le Flatts in the occupation of Miles Russell) to hold to the use of John and Anne Hunt for their lives, with full liberty to dig for, sink pits and get 'plaister' there in the 'plaister delfe', paying for the same 20s and 2 loads of plaister annually at the dwelling house of Gregorie in Nottingham, remainder to use of Gregorie, his heirs and assigns; Hunt is to maintain the capital messuage and adjoining buildings in repair and shall keep, breed and preserve the dovecote and cony warren with pigeons and conies, maintain fences and ditches, shall not destroy the fish pools or cut down trees (mentioning apple, plum, pear and walnut) in orchards, yards and gardens, shall not let the messuage and premises without Gregorie's permission or let any of premises for more than one year without his permission.
