Description
This sub-sub-series comprises typed radio play scripts written and broadcast predominantly in the 1930s for the BBC. The plays form part of The Pageant of the Roads of England collection, which explores the history and development of England’s roads. Subjects include the building of Roman roads, medieval travel, the stagecoach era and the introduction of motor vehicles. Several plays were transmitted in 1933. Some exist in multiple versions, including annotated duplicates showing revisions for performance or rebroadcast.
