Description
This sub-series contains a sequence of radio play scripts written by Lawrence du Garde Peach for Children’s Hour, centred on historical events and figures associated with the Tower of London. The series was broadcast in the early 1930s and includes an introductory speech and a list of twelve planned episodes. Subjects include the Peasants’ Revolt, the escapes of prisoners such as Lord Nithsdale and Ralph de Flambard, the final days of Sir Walter Raleigh and other episodes relating to the history of the Tower.
