Archive CreatorBagshawe family of Foolow, antiquarians, collectors and solicitors
Administrative HistoryHeyward appears to have been agent for several lead merchants. At one time in the 1730s he was acting for Richard Bagshawe at Miners Engine and later on was agent at Crimbo, and other mines in the Flagg and Taddington area, for the Barkers. Longsdon is more obscure but he also seems to have acted as an agent at the Eyam Edge mines.
ArrangementHeyward's records which relate to specific mines have been catalogued under the appropriate name. As the Heyward family were also Barmasters it is not always easy to distinguish between the nature and origin of their papers.
