DescriptionSurrender in Wirksworth manor court by Anthony Cheadle the younger and Martha his wife (daughter and heir of John Hayne, dec'd) of three fifth parts of a parcel of land called Dunbalkes (2 acres), a parcel of meadow (a half acre) in the lower part of Crabtree Close or Crabtree Acre, a close called Hennisburrowe (12 acres), 10 acres copy holdland in a field called Ludwallflatts, and admittance of John Toplis of Wirksworth, gent to create him tenant from suffering a recovery. (Fine 1 shilling).

Followed by recovery in Wirksworth manor court by Philip Mather against John Toplis, of the above lands, to the use of Anthony Cheadle and Martha his wife, for their lives, with remainder to such persons as may be directed by Cheadle or his wife and in default of such direction, to their right heirs. Fine £15 9 shillings 4d. Dated 23 Apr 1778
