Title
Probate of Betty Furnell of Spring House, Calow, widow of John Furnell, esq. Her husband devised to her all his personal estate not otherwise bequeathed. To her daughters Ann Burgoyne Needham, Judith, Mary Susannah and Harriett Furnell, all her household linen and clothes to be divided between them. To her son William Burgoyne Furnell, all her plate, his father’s watch and fowling piece, two brace of pistols, a gold headed cane, the painting of shipping over the sideboard in the dining room, the large print over the fireplace, 4 shooting pieces in the hall and the painted arms of the Furnell family. The remainder of her estate to Robert Haslett of London, gent., Richard Slater of Chesterfield, gent. and Robert Hurdman of Mansfield, (Nottinghamshire) surgeon, upon trust to sell and from the proceeds to pay off all her debts, the remainder to be divided between her son and four younger daughters in equal shares. Will dated 29 Jan 1797. 17 July
