DescriptionDated 27 Nov 1850 between William Power (receiver of the rents and profits of the real estates of Thomas Pearsall) of Freazeley, Warwickshire, gent, and John Marbrow of Newton Solney, farmer, for lands in Newton Solney, the Hook 4 acres 2 roods 0 perches Sandlands 8 acres 3 roods 39 perches, Barn Close and Willow Tree Close 10 acres 8 perches, Far Cross Way, 9 acres 1 roods 21 perches, Near Cross Way 5 acres 3 roods 28 perches - all in Newton Solney. To be held from 25 March 1850 for one year and then from year to year. Rent £97 10s a year. Additional rent of £50 per acre for management contrary to the covenants. Not to plough any of the turf ground. To have quarter of the arable fallow in any one year, with 10 qrs of good burnt lime and 10 cart loads of manure to be laid on each acre. To have quarter of the lands which were arable and should be tillage in a good fallow for turnips or wheat, again with 10 qrs of good burnt lime and 10 cart loads of manure on each acre, and in the spring of the fourth year from the breaking up of any part of the arable lands, lay down such part of the same as should have been fallowed for turnips with not less than 12lbs of good clover seed per acre upon a spring barley crop. If any hay sold off the premises, then 4 tons of manure to be brought back for each ton of hay. Not to dispose of any dung or manure. (From a bundle relating to D737/T/13-23)
