D7304/1/34 On back 'This photograph of Peter Nyambo; the son of an East African chief. He came to England in 1914 to draw attention to the "authorities" that the British were taking land etc to which they had no right. War broke out and he could not get back to East Africa, eventually reaching Winster and stayed with my parents Mr & Mrs John WILD for many months. Peter was a Christian and well educated but had no money. He often preached at the Methodist Chapel'.
