Administrative HistoryThe school occupies the Grade II listed, 18th century Swanwick Hall. It provides comprehensive education up to the age of 18 years. This school was established as a Grammar School in 1922 and become a comprehensive school in 1973. Following an academy conversion agreement dated 30 March 2016 (see DCC/LG/CX/3170) Swanwick Hall School ceased to exist, being replaced by an academy.
Custodial HistoryThis collection comprises a single accession, deposited in Derbyshire Record Office on 14 August 2009. Ownership passed to Derbyshire County Council when the school ceased to exist.
