Administrative History | The Richard Lees Wine Circle was formed in 1977, the main aim being for members to make their own wine of commercial quality. In 1979 the group adopted the title the Richard Lees Wine Appreciation Society (Richard Lees Ltd, concrete manufacturers, near Derby, being the company a number of members worked for). The main purpose of the club was to provide the facilities to further education in wine appreciation; its activities including holding wine tasting meetings and undertaking trips to the wine producing regions of Europe. In 1991 the club ended its connection with Richard Lees and formed a new club, adopting the name of the Derbyshire Dales Wine Society. |
