Administrative History
Mayfield Mill became a cotton mill in 1793, burnt down in 1806 and remained derelict until it was rebuilt in 1816. In 1866 it was leased to Simpson Brothers of Eccles (Lancashire).
Custodial History
These records were donated to Derbyshire Record Office anonymously in October 1969.
Appraisal
5 volumes of invoices and 13 indexes were de-accessioned in May 2006.
