Administrative History | Dronfield Burial Board was formed as a result of resolutions passed at a Dronfield parish vestry meeting on 13 April 1874. The meeting resolved to provide a new burial ground to serve the whole parish, including the townships of Dronfield, Unstone and Coal Aston, under the provisions of the Burials (Beyond the Metropolis) Act of 1853, and appointed a burial board to run it. After the Local Government Act of 1894, the board was reconstituted as a Joint Burial Committee, under the appointment of Dronfield Urban District Council and the parish councils of Unstone, Dronfield Woodhouse and Coal Aston. The Committee held its inaugural meeting on 19 September 1895. |
