Administrative History
High Peak Borough Council was formed on 1 April 1974 (under the Local Government Act of 1972) as the successor to the municipal boroughs of Buxton and Glossop, the urban districts of New Mills and Whaley Bridge and the rural districts of Chapel-en-le-Frith and Tintwistle (the latter in the administrative county of Cheshire).
Custodial History
These records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office by High Peak Borough Council in 2007, March 2020 and October 2022.
