Description
Plans numbered D6710/1/4/41-49 were originally contained in an envelope (D6710/1/4/40) addressed to Robert Rippon Duke at Spring Gardens, Buxton, from 163 Strand, WC [London], endorsed with note "These plans were sent to the offices of the Builder and I think the Building News, London, at their request as they wanted to illustrate some parts in their paper. RRD, Palace".
Plans D6710/1/4/51-53 were in a separate envelope (D6710/1/50) marked "hospital plans". Both envelopes (D6710/1/4/40 and D6710/1/4/50) were contained in a folder (D6710/1/4/39). The plans are as follows:
D6710/1/4/41 Section, plans and details of the domed roof. Scales 1 foot: 3 inches and 1 foot: ½ inch
D6710/1/4/42 Detail of roof ironwork: main and intermediate ribs and purlins. Scale 1 foot: ½ inch
D6710/1/4/43 Plan showing position of stone columns and entablature, with wrought iron plate ring and cast iron girders. Scale 1 foot: ½ inch
D6710/1/4/44 General plan and elevation of half the upper ring of domed roof and connection to ribs. Scale 1 foot: ½ inch
D6710/1/4/45 Section of hospital building including dome. Scale16 feet: 1 foot
D6710/1/4/46 Elevation of hospital building looking towards Devonshire Road. Scale 16 feet: 1 inch
