Golden Valley, Riddings
Description
The Trust commenced this project in 1977 to renovate a terrace of twenty stone-built iron workers' cottages erected by the Butterley Company about 1795. Pairs of cottages were converted into single dwellings and sold. Another phase involving sixteen brick cottages was also undertaken by the Trust. In addition extensive environmental works were tackled, including canal clearance. The project was completed in 1979.
