Title | Bridge over canal, Loco Power Station. |
Date | [mid-late 20th cent] |
Description | The coal wagons were shunted on a line to the left of the conveyor bridge. A chain and buckets elevated the coal onto the conveyor belt and into hoppers over the boilers. A steam operated whistle (called the Bull), because it was a deep note was used for starting the shift in the mornings and dinner time. The tank where the ladder is was to supply the boilers with soft water. The allotments are to the left, later turned into a car park for employees. The canal is underneath the temporary bridge. |
