Administrative History | Until 1852, this area was part of the parish of North Wingfield. In 1852 the ecclesiastical parish was formed, covering the townships of Stretton, Clay Lane and Woodthorpe, though a small part of Stretton was in Shirland parish.
A chapel of ease, St. Barnabas, Danesmoor was built in 1883, along with another, St. Mark, Handley. Handley was in Stretton township, as were the hamlets of South Hill, Timberfield and Woolley Moor. |
Custodial History | These records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office by the parish in August 1969, July 1989, June 1997, February 2008, April 2008, November 2014 and March 2019.
