Holbrook Church of England Primary School
Administrative History
Holbrook Church of England Primary School. The school was on two sites. A school for boys and girls was built in 1837 and a school for infants was built on Holbrook Moor in 1892, both by William Evans. A boys' school was later added to the infants school. The infants school closed in July 1973 but both sites continued in use for Holbrook First School for children of 5 to 9 years. The school was concentrated on the site in Moorside Lane in 1984. Following an academy conversion agreement dated 30 September 2016 (see DCC/LG/CX/3212) Holbrook Church Of England Primary School ceased to exist, being replaced by an academy.
Custodial History
This collection comprises a single accession, deposited in Derbyshire Record Office on 31 March 2006. Ownership passed to Derbyshire County Council when the school ceased to exist.
