A national school was established in Creswell in 1874. New school buildings were completed about 1899 and in 1934 the school was renamed Creswell Church of England Senior School.
Creswell Infants School was opened on February 14th 1898 as a Voluntary Infants School. It was enlarged in May 1910 with the addition of three classrooms. Then in June 1947 it became a controlled school. In 1977 the school moved from Elmton Road to Gypsy Lane.
