Title	Photocopy of a printed original of 1858: prospectus for a school operated by the Misses Lammin in Ashbourne. Offers boarding places for young ladies: lists fees. Subjects listed include: German, Italian, Music, Drawing and Dancing. Four teachers listed (not the Misses Lammin); all titled "Professor". Four prominent clergymen listed as referees.

Description	A note indicates that the original is held in "Derby Reference Library" Contemporary newspaper advertisements and census returns indicate that the school was established in Church Street, Ashbourne in 1846 by Mrs Jessy Mackenzie Lammin, widow of the Reverend Thomas Pearson Lammin, former head teacher of Tamworth Grammar School. By 1848 the school had moved to larger premises, also in Church Street. Three of Mrs Lammin's daughters, Mary Rose, Jessy Mackenzie and for a shorter period Caroline, were involved in running the school. In April 1851 ten boarders were listed, aged between 9 and 19 years. In 1861 there were 11 boarders, aged between 13 and 18. In 1871 there were 19 boarders, aged between 9 and 18 years. By 1881 the Lammin sisters had retired to Croydon.
