DescriptionThe left-hand cylinder and valve chest surrounded by the iron-banded wooden insulation. Above the cylinder, is the piston linked to the beam by the parallel-linkage invented by James Watt. Note the warning sign prohibiting access except for authorised personnel, and above it a folding stretcher for emergencies.
