DescriptionView under the bridge looking east along the B5056 Fenny Bentley to Grangemill road, showing the south abutment and the cast-iron girder. The girders date from 1865, manufactured by Smedley Brothers of Belper as replacements for the originals, designed by Butterley Company, Josiah Jessop, that were fractured. The replacement girders each weighed 26 tons.
