Title
Brierlow
Date
1972
Description
Up the hill along the B5053 Brierlow Bar to Longnor road in the direction of the Ashbourne Branch (Buxton & High Peak Junction Line No.1), opened on 27th June 1892, which then superseded the CHPR. At this point the former CHPR did quite a sinuous route from Brierlow Grange and crossed at a higher level above the present Hindlow Tunnel at right angles to the Ashbourne Branch. The tunnel is hidden behind the tip on the extreme left. A Sulzer Type 2 BR diesel locomotive is visible by the bridge.
