| Title | Sparklow (Hurdlow) |
| Date | 1972 |
| Description | From the Endmoor to Crowdecote lane looking West towards the Inn and Cronkston Low, 415 m above sea level. The station was situated to the right (north) of the bridge, whilst on this side next to the former Station Master's cottage were the cattle pens, weighbridge and office. To the right of the lorry Hurdlow Incline can be seen climbing up the flanks of Cronkston Low. The incline was the original route of the CHPR with a cable hauled gradient of 1:16 for 850 yards, but was replaced by Hurdlow Deviation with a more gentle gradient of 1:60 in 1869. The 1899 Ashbourne line virtually followed this route. |
