Title
Gotham Curve
Date
20th Cent
Description
350hp 0-6-0 diesel-electric shunter 12006 in 1959 with a test run to see if diesel traction between Parsley Hay and Middleton Top was feasible. It is approaching the crossing in the down direction with very careful observation as it negotiates Gotham Curve, note the check rail in place on the inside of the curve. Apparently on the return run, it only managed to crawl up Hopton Incline at walking pace and with a top speed of only 15mph was not a success.
