| Description | General view of Middleton Top in the down direction towards the engine house with the water tank and a 'J94' alongside. On the left foreground is the siding into Redhill Quarry, whilst in the left background is the course of the common road. In 1892, permission was granted for a tramway by Messrs. A. Spencer & Co., Mineral Merchants, to enable stone to be brought from New Hopton-Wood Stone Quarry to Middleton Top. |
