Title
Hopton Incline
Date
1932
Description
The incline in the 1930s from near the foot west of the overbridge across the Hopton-Via Gellia road. The siding runs off to the right to Taylor's, Hopton Boneworks. The works were abandoned sometime in the 1930s but still present at the time of the photograph. Prior to the gradient being eased and the length increased from 457 to 575 yards, the foot of the incline was originally opposite the boneworks where it immediately increased at 1:14. The present gradient commences by the point to the siding.
