Title
Middleton Bottom
Date
1932
Description
General view to the bottom of the incline, with the line to Middlepeak Wharf on the left containing wagons beyond the catch-point. A number of wagons are also present on the northern siding that runs up to and beyond the start of the incline. Middlepeak Quarries are in the background clearly showing the route of the old lane that crossed the CHPR and The Monkey Hole between Wirksworth and Rise End. This route has now been significantly quarried away with the increased size of Middlepeak Quarry, but still survives from the High Peak Trail northwards.
