Description
Kitson Dock Tank 47000 being lowered down Middleton Incline having been repaired at Derby Loco Works following the derailment at Steeplehouse Goods on the 31st July 1955 (see 0064/0355). Counterbalancing 47000 is a water-tank on the ascent passing the site of Wheatcroft's Quarry opened in 1856. Note the catch-points below the tank designed to derail ascending runaways.
