Archive Reference / Library Class No.
D6367/1/338
Title
Steeple Grange
Date
1967
Description
The rather tight clearance is obvious on the Killer's Branch built by the LNWR, worked by their locomotives and opened in June 1884. It was fairly steeply graded for much of its length at 1:27. The view is in the 'down' direction up the branch from near Steeplehouse & Wirksworth Goods, note the catch points to protect the junction. In the background is the bridge carrying Porter Lane from Cromford Hill to Rise End.
