Description | 'Friden - train for Parsley Hay', according to the back of the photograph. The bridge abutment in dressed gritstone suggests the photograph is not of CHPR origin at Friden, and more likely to be LNWR. On the former CHPR route north of Parsley Hay the bridges were rebuilt in LNW days to accommodate the Ashbourne-Buxton Railway partially following the old alignment of the CHPR. Analysis of the photograph has identified the location as Parsley Hay, viewed from the minor lane looking east just south of the former station site, the Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 is obviously just arriving from Friden! |
