TitleSheep Pasture Incline
Date1967
DescriptionTwo months before closure of the incline, the Pointsman's Cabin showing the mechanism with wire rope and pulley for the warning bell indicating wagon movements. The spring loaded point lever is also visible to the right of the bell, this had to be held against the spring tension to allow traffic to pass by the catch pit, as in resting mode the traffic would be automatically diverted to the pit.
In the foreground are two inclined rollers to keep the rope on alignment as it passes round the catch pit. In the right background is a derrick at the Nine Elms Marble Company premises (subsequently Pisani).
