DescriptionThe bridge carrying the CHPR over the River Goyt at the foot of the Whaley Bridge Incline. The timberwork on the bridge was replaced in 1863, but not the cast-iron. The wrought iron, bowstring girders were erected at a later date. The bridge on Bridge Street is in the background beyond the CHPR bridge.
