In the centre of the photograph is the route of the 1853 connection from the Cromford & High Peak Railway to the MBM&M (Manchester, Buxton, Matlock & Midland Junction Railway), subsequently the Midland Railway. This was one of the last CHPR sections to close on 3 April 1967. |
