Administrative History
After the establishment of the Chesterfield School Board in 1871, a Board School took over in 1872 the premises in Hollis Lane which had been used as a British School for nearly thirty years. New school buildings in Hipper Street opened in 1873, with separate Boys and Girls with Infants schools.
